Description

I made these characters about a year ago and haven't mentioned them since here: xaralta.deviantart.com/art/Reg…

But they've been sitting in the back of my mind, so here's Inoveluto, the blue one in that picture, redesigned.  The red one is now her "brother", more accurately a similar creature or clone as they were both created.  The large white one won't have an official design, and is their mysterious, never-seen triplet.  It's unknown if it is even alive any more.  Now about this girl (WALL OF TEXT TIME!) :

24 years ago, a wandering Far Spirit of the Northern Grasslands decided to buy a...simply enormous creature from a creator who made a few other large creatures, but none of this type.  At 11 feet tall, Inoveluto is short compared to those who live in the south, but in the Grasslands where she lives, she towers over all but the Stretchies- tall, divebombing skinny creatures who range from 10-40 feet tall.  Most others in that land are no more than a few feet tall, and are usually thin and wiry.  Obviously, she is neither of those, which became her downfall.

The way of life there is very different than in the southern areas.  Far Spirits use their creatures to control territory for their glory, and disputes are common as they seek to expand and defend their territories.  As territories are huge, this means lots of traveling around.  When border disputes occur, the border is secured for a year, making each dispute yearly.  So their creatures spend their lives going to these various disputes where they must assert their dominance over the area by defeating the creatures of other competing Far Spirits, without causing permanent damage.  Usually, they just exhaust or physically remove the opponents.

Now, Inoveluto is IMMENSELY strong, capable of picking up and flinging multiple creatures with little effort, and her sheer size is intimidating for hose who have never seen her before.  At first, opponents were so in awe of her they would freeze in place, and she could chuck them away easily, but after a while, they grew accustomed to her and just ran.  Inoveluto could do nothing, since she is a textbook Mighty Glacier and is ridiculously slow.  Even the slowest of creatures easily fled.  Due to her slowness, her band of fellow creatures only brought her with them to particularly major contests, but eventually it was not even worthwhile to bring her to those.  She slowed down their travels, and could not be carried since she was too heavy for anyone to do so, plus she was so ineffective she did little more than look impressive.  One day, she woke up to her Far Spirit telling her she was "not worth it" and she was sold to one of the non-travelling Far Spirits that kept their creatures in the area between the North and South, just above the Desert of the Forsaken.

That's when things went downhill.  Wandering creatures like Inoveluto are typically quite intelligent and independent, and their Far Spirits don't exert much control over them.  But Far Spirits with stationary creatures often prefer less intelligent, predictable creatures that are easily controlled.  Her new owner had a hard time keeping her under control, and almost always left her in a mental state that is simply.... terrifying.  She would be laid down in an open area, then she would forget how to move, or really do anything except lie there, stuck with only her thoughts and be left like that until the Far Spirit could stand to control her again.  Even when she was active and under control, the hotter climate of her new home took its toll on her, and she would often overheat and get stuck in awkward places.  Once again, her weight made it incredibly difficult to it to get her unstuck.  In a few years, a more drastic change was made.  One day the Far Spirit put her into a dormant state,  sent her away to another in its circle of allies, and had the Six Stars completely change her mentally so she would be easier for it to control, but be forever stuck in a mind fog, unable to remember much from her past or present, and unable to do the more wild and risky physical things she did in the past, like handstands.  She was also recolored to brown with wood-like stripes and colorful accents, and lost her bioluminescent patches on all her non-blue areas.

She still lives under this Far Spirit, wandering the hot desert in a mental cloud, struggling to remember the names of things and the way the past was.  Her memory of her past life spent traveling an under the other Far Spirit in her blue coloration is a few uncertain fragments, like a half-forgotten dream.  She longs for her lost color and shine, but most of all wants to see her red "brother" Lucaixbre.  Her Far Spirit and acquaintances (she is almost unable to even remember others well enough to become proper "friends")  generally tell her that these memories simply are a dream so she'll leave them alone and calm down, and not long for her better life in the past.  But she remains determined that they were real, despite what others claim, and she spends her days wandering, looking for Lucaixbre.  Her current coloration has faded and become spotted with red, and is in need of restoring, she has also lost most of her previous luster and now is scraggly and weaker than before.  The sheer heat of the area prevents her from making much progress on her search, since she was never meant to live in such a hot place and her build just makes it worse.  She still does not know what happened to Lucaixbre.

Lucaixbre had a similar life to her.  He patrolled with a group for a time before encountering similar problems and being sent to another stationary Far Spirit.  Fortunately, this one largely left him alone, as its creatures were primarily wandering creatures stopping for a while or ill-suited for that life.  Then he travelled again for a few more years, then his far Spirit (who once owned Inoveluto) planned to take him elsewhere to show him off.  He hasn't been seen since, but rumors persist that he was somehow left to die in a dormant state before likely dying of thirst or the heat.  If this was the case, Inoveluto is the only on of the triplets known to be alive, though in her sad state, her fate was not much better.

Personality-wise, Inoveluto was very cheerful, outgoing, overconfident, and a bit condescending in her "blue days".  She more or less acted like a giant movie monster stomping around in a city, where she freely pushed around and lorded over others, and believed she was the best creature on the Grassland and invincible.  She often tried to draw attention to herself by displaying her strength of flashy appearance, or by making sassy comebacks when mocked.  Her sale left her feeling inferior and useless, and her terrifying experiences with the "still state" crushed her feeling of invincibility, replacing them with fear of dying or being stuck in that state forever.  One her mind was essentially replaced by the second Far Spirit, she became a completely different person.  Now she has lost hope, only caring about finding her brother for some reason and finding a way to return to her old life, rather than be stuck baking in the arid region forever.  Otherwise, she is defined by her forgetfulness, difficulty thinking clearly, and surprising meekness.  Rather than confronting those who harass her, she just curls up or takes it.

As for the umbrella, it was a gift, and she found it visually fascinating, though it was utterly useless.

Can I just say that I really like her blue design?  The lines around her mane are a bit rough since it was a late addition.  I drew her once with the extra neck floof and loved the ridiculously top-heavy look it gave her, since it fit very well with her inspiration.
