Got some fur swatches from Fursuitsupplies today, here's my first impressions:
MM Black Fox- I heard this stuff was poorer quality than the white stuff, and I can confirm that with this swatch at least. It's rougher and more wirey and kinky rather than wispy like the white kind, but it's also noticeably thicker. It would probably work well for a monster/grungy character, but not so much a smooth/elegant one.
Black Seal- Really soft, like the fur on a dog's ear. Otherwise, pretty much what I expected- a short, plush fur.
Ivory Luxury Fox- I have to agree on the MM Fox/Luxury Shag hybrid description on this. It's a bit more like MM Fox than the typical luxury shag fur, with its off-white color and more wispy texture. I'm not sure if this stuff has weird "anime hair" matting problem that luxury shag has, and I also have doubts concerning its painting/airbrush ability considering the luxury shag qualities. Not sure if it's a fur I'd personally use, but it seems like a nice fur overall.
Flokati Shag- I don't know how to pronounce that name, but this is basically a slightly longer, floatier, and whiter MM Fox. It doesn't have quite the same amount of wispiness, but I love the movement and fluffiness of it. It's a lot of fun waving the swatch around and watching the fur swish around. It also seems to be in stock more often than MM Fox, and probably a good alternative to it.
Fuchsia Bunny Shag- Unexpectedly really nice. This stuff is soft, but realistic and feels really thick, almost like a longer version of the seal fur. The color is more dark and red than the site shows, but it's still a really pretty red-pink color. I haven't tried to shave any of these samples yet, but this stuff looks like it should shave really well!

My IB Extended Essay
Read it here
For those of you in IB doing an EE in Visual Arts, here's mine to go check out if you want a good, recent example (I got a solid A on it this past summer). Even if you're not in IB, it's about parallels between the manga Bleach and Picasso's work, which you might otherwise find interesting. Bibliography is not included in the document and my name/number have been deleted for privacy.
Fursuit debut videos
Here's a bunch of videos from the Megaplex dance competition showing my new suit:
Probably the best one to show off the actual dancing angle-wise:
fursuit is done.
Sadly, I have no good photos of it yet, but went to an anime con this weekend and hopefully will find some soon.
ALso, I drew the first piece of non-coaster fanart I've done in a loong time, but I'm not posting it here because for one, it's not well done, and for two... it's of a pretty weird show and I'm sort of afraid I'd lose watchers for it lol
Monsters incoming!
I just got a whole flood of orders for monster tags because someone posted a rave about theirs and now a ton of people want them! So expect a ton of those over the next few days/weeks.
